In March, we concluded our Lenten journey with a subject journey to Holy Household Church, the primary Catholic church in Auburn. Father Gathenya welcomed our college students, who had been in awe of the sweetness and magnificence of the church structure. As we prayed the life-size Stations of the Cross and mentioned the individuals and occasions within the stained glass home windows, dad and mom and youngsters had been engaged and inquisitive studying concerning the Catholic religion.
The Easter season has been stuffed with learning, “all issues shiny and exquisite. All creatures nice and small, all issues sensible and great. The Lord God made all of them.” (Cecil F. Alexander, April recitation.) We bid farewell to the ocean, flew into the sky exploring some intriguing creatures that fly, and eventually landed on day six of Creation to start our research of land animals. “He gave us eyes to see them, and lips that we would inform; How nice is God Almighty, Who hath made all issues properly.”
God blessed us with a brand new good friend, Mr. Jon Robson, who graciously shared his items. He gave a hands-on, participating lesson about his bees and introduced jars of honey for all college students and lecturers. We had been amazed on the significance of the bees in our meals cycle. The scholars had been stuffed with questions and feedback particularly concerning the queen bee, the drones and the life cycle of bees. Who knew that employee bees had so many roles: nurses, storekeepers, wax makers, sentries, robbers, scouts. Seems like a solid from an previous western film. The scholars concluded their bee research by writing “thanks” notes and coloring sheets for Mr. Robson. With the assistance of Mr. John Murphy, forest caretaker, Mr. Robson led a service undertaking for the seventh grade boys by means of the paths of Lettie Prepare dinner Forest, instructing them trim and preserve trails, fowl watch, and even just a few survival strategies about leaves they will and can’t eat within the forest. Mr. Robson is a passionate and educated mannequin of Christian courtesy. Thanks!
