4 new stained glass home windows have been put in within the parish church at St. Therese Catholic Church on Brawley Faculty Street in Mooresville. The challenge has been within the works for greater than two years, and the parish is grateful for the generosity of the couple that made it doable.
As Fr. Mark Lawlor wrote in his Pastor’s Reflection for March 14, “In our discernment of what scenes or saints to painting within the home windows, we lastly selected 4 sacraments which are usually celebrated within the church, and so the home windows will likely be a focus for parishioners, friends and people celebrating sacraments.”
The 4 new home windows current the sacrament of baptism, which incorporates a picture of the baptism of Jesus within the Jordan River by St. John the Baptist and a decrease panel of the parish’s unique baptismal font; the Sacrament of Affirmation, which incorporates a picture of the bishop administering Affirmation; the sacrament of the holy Eucharist, which exhibits the priest distributing Holy Communion; and the sacrament of marriage, which exhibits the couple and the priest in the course of the wedding ceremony.
Lawlor additionally shared, “Sacraments are encounters with the blessed Trinity and alternatives to obtain grace. It’s my hope that the brand new home windows will affirm our religion within the risen Lord.”
The brand new home windows had been ready and put in by Salem Stained Glass in East Bend.
