A Catholic priest, who’s presently dealing with grave allegations of sexual abuse, has bodily attacked an aged bishop in Ajmer, Rajasthan.

“Since he’s a priest of the diocese, I waited, and he got here and sat near me,” narrated the bishop, including, “With out shedding time, the priest started to argue about his case on a sexual allegation from a married girl. Father Varghese suspended for attacking Bishop

In a letter to Father Varghese Palappallil, Bishop Pius Thomas D’Souza of Ajmer cited the second part of Canon legislation 1370 to state his priest assaulter that his motion has incurred “Latae Sententiae Interdict and suspension” from all priestly duties and priestly ministry.
The Catholic Church enforces a “latae sententiae penalty” mechanically on these attacking its authorities comparable to a bishop.
