Ruth M. Clark
Ruth M. Clark, 92, of Kalkaska, handed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 whereas surrounded by family members. She was born on July 12, 1928, to the late John and Bessie (Hollis) Kennedy in Ann Arbor. She grew up on the Kennedy household farm in Whitmore Lake which was settled by her great-grandfather in 1835. Ruth graduated as a registered nurse from Mercy School in Detroit and began her nursing profession at Ypsilanti State Hospital in 1949. She married the love of her life Charles Clark on Sept. 9, 1950 at Previous St. Patrick Catholic Church in Whitmore Lake.
She continued her nursing profession at Fort Custer Navy Hospital in Battle Creek earlier than transferring north to Kalkaska in 1953. Quickly after her arrival, Ruth started working at Kalkaska Memorial Hospital on its opening day. After working practically 20 years in Kalkaska, Ruth took a job as the ground supervisor at Grand Traverse Medical Care Facility, later referred to as Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Ruth and Chuck had been founding members of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Kalkaska and attended for over 50 years, the place she was very concerned in church actions. Ruth was actively concerned in native social teams by the years which included bridge membership, golf league and bowling league. She additionally loved snowboarding, in addition to enjoying piano and organ. Ruth was extraordinarily nicely organized, an amazing cook dinner, and he or she created cherished reminiscences by making each household event particular.

Brendan and Shane Ok.; son, Kevin J.(Karen M.) and their youngsters, Angella M. Durkin and Michael J.; son, Timothy P.(Sharon L.) and their youngsters, Laura Ok. Goeke and Michael P.; son, Gerald A. (Lori M.) and youngsters, Melissa R Winowiecki and Jeff A.; daughter, Joan M. Clark and her youngsters, David M. Hodgson and Cameron J. Hodgson; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in dying by her dad and mom; husband, Charles Clark; her three siblings, Robert Kennedy, Elizabeth Oravec and John Kennedy.
A personal funeral Mass might be held at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church resulting from COVID. Burial will happen subsequent to her beloved husband, Chuck at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Cemetery in Barker Creek in Might; please verify the funeral residence web site for particulars.
Memorial contributions could also be made in Ruth’s honor to Heartland Hospice or St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Kalkaska.
Preparations have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Dwelling.
